Plex
Plex is where you watch everything in the library — movies, TV shows, and more — on pretty much any device.
Getting access
You need to be added to the Plex server before anything else here works, since your Plex account is also what signs you into Seerr, RomM, and Shelfmark.
- Let scootR know you’d like access — ask in Discord or email flix@scootr.ca. If someone else is setting this up for you, they just need to pass along your email address.
- You’ll get an email from flix@scootr.ca with a setup link.
- Open the link and either sign in with your existing Plex account or create a free one on the spot — this automatically adds the scootRflix libraries to your account, so there’s no separate invite to accept afterward.
- Once that’s done, a follow-up email arrives with links to every other service. You’re set — the same Plex account signs you into all of them.
Watching
Install Plex on whatever you watch on:
- TV / streaming box — Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast, most smart TVs, or a game console.
- Computer / browser — app.plex.tv .
- Phone / tablet — the Plex app on iOS or Android.
Sign in with your Plex account, find the server in your list, and start watching. Playback quality adjusts automatically to your connection.
Don’t see the server, or it disappeared? First check the service status page — if Plex shows as down, that’s why. Otherwise it’s usually a share issue — ask in Discord.
Can’t find something?
If a movie or show isn’t in the library, don’t wait around for it to show up — request it through Seerr and it’ll usually show up in Plex within a day or two once it’s downloaded.
Noticed something disappeared?
The library isn’t infinite — old, unwatched, or poorly-rated content gets periodically reviewed to make room for new requests. See Library Cleanup & Content Rotation for how that works and what to do if you want something kept.
