Getting StartedSigning in with Plex

Signing in with Plex

Almost every scootRflix service — Seerr, RomM, Shelfmark, and Book Orbit — uses the same sign-in flow: “Sign in with Plex.” Under the hood this goes through an identity provider called Authentik, which checks your Plex account and lets you straight in. You never create a separate password for these services.

The flow, step by step

  1. Open the service (for example request.scootr.ca).
  2. Click Sign in with Plex (sometimes labelled Log in via Authentik or just a Plex-branded button).
  3. You’ll be sent to plex.tv to confirm you want to authorize the app — sign in to Plex if you aren’t already.
  4. Plex redirects you back to the service, now signed in.

The "Sign in with Plex" button on a service's login screen

First time on a given service? Access is granted based on your existing Plex library share. If you get an “access denied” screen instead of a sign-in prompt, you likely haven’t been shared the server yet — ping us in Discord.

If you hit a Cloudflare screen first

A few services sit behind Cloudflare Access before you even reach the Plex sign-in button, to keep them off the public internet. If that happens, enter the same email address you use for Plex — see Cloudflare Access re-verification for the full walkthrough, including why you’ll be asked to do this again every 30 days.

Why one login for everything?

  • Less to remember — your Plex credentials are the only ones that matter.
  • Access follows your share — when your Plex access changes, so does your access to everything else automatically.
  • No extra accounts to manage on our end, which means faster access when you’re added and a clean cutoff if you’re ever removed.

Questions about a specific service’s sign-in screen? Check that service’s own guide — Plex, Seerr, RomM, Book Orbit, Shelfmark — or ask in Discord.
