Library Cleanup & Content Rotation

Storage isn’t infinite, so the movie and TV library gets reviewed periodically for things that aren’t being watched — to make room for new requests coming in through Seerr. This applies to both movies and TV shows.

Nothing gets deleted automatically. The rules below only flag cleanup candidates — scootR reviews that list by hand on a regular basis and makes the final call. Being technically eligible doesn’t mean something is actually gone.

What tends to get flagged

A title typically becomes a cleanup candidate when it matches a pattern like:

  • Never watched — added a while ago (currently around 90 days) and nobody has watched it since.
  • Gone quiet — hasn’t been watched by anyone in a while (currently around 60 days).
  • Poorly rated by whoever requested it — the person who asked for it watched it, rated it low, and it’s been sitting inactive since.
  • Stale and no longer tracked (TV shows specifically) — inactive, rated low, and not being monitored for new episodes anymore.

These thresholds get tuned from time to time, so think of this as “roughly this long, roughly this unpopular” rather than an exact countdown.

Want something kept around?

If there’s a movie or show in the library you don’t want touched — even if it fits one of the patterns above — just say so in Discord or by email at flix@scootr.ca, and it’ll be left alone.

Something you wanted is gone?

It’s not personal — it’s just storage management. If you still want it, request it again through Seerr and it’ll come back.
